The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has confirmed that the 2022-23 Migration Program has been designed to support businesses and skilled migrants in a post-pandemic environment. The DHA also aims to drive social cohesion with the upcoming program by:
- Helping Australian reunite with their family members from overseas who have been unable to come to Australia
- Targeting skill shortages across Australia (including regional Australia) to assist businesses fill positions with skilled migrant workers
The increase in the planning levels in the Migration Program (as announced as part of the 2021-22 and 2022-23 Federal Budgets) is detailed below:
