Thinking about state nomination for your skilled visa? Here’s what you need to know as we head into the new financial year.
Victoria’s 2024–25 Skilled Visa Program: Now Closed
Victoria has officially closed its 2024 – 25 state-nominated skilled visa program to new Registrations of Interest (ROIs).
What does this mean?
- If you’ve already submitted an ROI, you’re still in the running. Victoria will continue to assess those for any leftover nomination places.
- If you’re thinking of withdrawing your ROI, tread carefully, you won’t be able to submit a new one until the 2025–26 program opens.
- As for the next round? Info about the 2025–26 program will be shared once it’s available, so keep an eye out for updates.
South Australia Closes Onshore ROIs for 2024–25
South Australia has also wrapped up its skilled migration ROIs for onshore applicants for the 2024–25 program year.
Here’s the lowdown:
- Any ROIs not submitted in the system will be automatically deleted.
- Submitted ROIs will still be processed by 30 June 2025.
- South Australia received over 16,000 ROIs from onshore applicants, along with more than 40,000 EOIs from offshore – all vying for just 3,800 nomination places. That’s some serious competition.
Good news for offshore applicants: You can still lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect. If you’re successful, you’ll get a direct invite to apply for state nomination.
